An intimate family celebration with

A casual reception the evening of Friday, Aug. 25 and

A farewell brunch the morning of Sunday, Aug. 27

This is an intimate family wedding. We look forward to hosting a celebratory party with friends in September.

Rachael and David are registered at Target and Zola.

While you're here

  • Visit the Minnesota State Fair, the largest state fair in the country by daily attendance! Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the gate. Tip: Parking and traffic at the fair are difficult, but there are a number of free park-and-ride shuttles.
  • For culture: The wedding ceremony will be at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and we encourage you to check out the art before the ceremony. Also nearby is the Walker Art Center, a modern art museum. The Walker grounds include the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden (home to the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry) and a pedestrian walkway to a spacious urban park.
  • Minneapolis is the City of Lakes, and many of the city's lakes have excellent walking paths. We recommend Lake Nokomis, Bde Maka Ska and Lake of the Isles.
  • Looking for food? Rachael recommends Owamni, revolutionary indigenous cuisine, and Khâluna, a Laotian restaurant that's spicier than you expect! David recommends Moscow on the Hill for delicious Eastern European food, and Saint Genevieve for a surprisingly affordable French tasting menu. More local options for those staying in our neighborhood include The Lowry, Namaste Cafe and French Meadow.
  • If you'd prefer drinks, David recommends Merlin's Rest for the city's biggest whisky list, and W.A. Frost for their cozy downstairs lounge. Rachael suggests Tattersall Distillery for local spirits and Arbeiter Brewing, one of Minneapolis's many breweries. Options in our neighborhood include Nightingale, Fire and Nice Alehouse, and — if you hoof it a little and knock on the discreet steel door in the alley — the speakeasy Volstead's Emporium.
  • Sweets? Our neighborhood includes not one but two locally owned ice cream shops: Bebe Zito's and Sebastian Joe's Ice Cream Cafe. Rachael also recommends the bakery Cooks | Bellecour.

Getting around

  • Our house is in a dense urban neighborhood where guests will have to park on the street. You may have to park a block or two away. Please reach out if that will be an issue and we can find a way for you to park closer.
  • The Minneapolis Institute of Art has street parking and also a paid garage.
  • The Copper Hen restaurant is just a few blocks from MIA, and also has a parkling lot across Nicollet Avenue.
  • Minneapolis has a decent bus network, Metro Transit. The #2, #4, #6, and #17 lines all stop within a few blocks of our house. The city's two light rail lines go to downtown Minneapolis, but will require a transfer (or a long walk) to get to our neighborhood.
  • Short-term bicycle rentals are available via Lime and Veo.

This website will be updated with event details as the wedding draws nearer.
